Living in the stifling confines of a Houston apartment with her son and domineering daughter-in-law, Mrs. Watts, an aging widow, desires nothing more than to return to her birthplace of Bountiful one last time. Secretly steeling away from the apartment, Mrs. Watts embarks on the adventure of her senior life, seeking reprieve and a sense of closure as she makes her way back to the place of her youth. During the pilgrimage, she discovers a sense of renewed purpose as well as a more profound experience of peace and reconciliation, not only with her past, but also with the ones she is closest to.
