Our Mission

Our mission, based upon and guided by a Christian perspective, is to present professional-quality theatre that entertains and provokes further thought on a wide range of social, political, and religious concerns.

A member of the Abbotsford Arts Council, Christians in Theatre Arts (CITA) and Theatre BC, Gallery 7 further endeavors to provide quality, drama-related workshops for the church, school or community theatre practitioner and to increase the general public’s general appreciation and enjoyment of the performing and visual arts.

Founded in 1991 at the Eben-Ezer Mennonite Church, incorporated as non-profit society in January 2005 and registered as a charitable organization in December 2005, Gallery 7 encourages artists and audiences alike to explore how themes and issues raised in our productions relate to a Biblical perspective and to develop a deeper understanding of the dramatic arts through personal involvement and participation.

Our Values

Faith-based

We are a God-honoring, non-judgmental community that is guided by Christian values and principles – communicating hope and inspiring people toward faith in God.

Growth

We provide professional-quality entertainment and artistic opportunities in an affirming environment that supports, challenges, and encourages existing and new-found talent – stretching individuals in their emotional, spiritual, and intellectual growth.

Creative

We are a creative force that harnesses artistic, administrative, and technical talents and unleashes them in unified expressive endeavors that honor the Sovereign God who created us in his image.

Impact

We impact participants and audiences through authentic, life-giving, and fun theatre experiences that are thought-provoking, socially relevant, and positive examples of integrity and openness – promoting hope and personal connection for the glory of God.

Excellence

We achieve and maintain a professional-quality excellence that permeates our conduct and artistry and liberates us from the confines of mediocrity.

Our Vision

Gallery 7’s vision is to impact the church and community through thought-provoking and entertaining productions, and through drama-related educational and resource opportunities. Each year, Gallery 7 presents a full season of theatre, guest performances, and workshops in the pursuit of realizing this vision and we hope that both audience and artist alike will experience the magic of theatre in an uplifting, Christ-focused environment.

In the fall of 2003, the Gallery 7 Board of Directors adopted an ambitious 10-year plan that will see this ministry move forward in exciting ways. The plan includes expanding existing main-stage and educational programming, developing a Fraser Valley-wide church drama resource network, developing a summer drama camp program for children and youth, and securing a larger and more suitable facility for our operations.

We believe that all of these dreams are in alignment with a sense of calling from God to create a community-based theatre and performing arts organization where artists and professionals are freed to explore and develop their God-given talents and abilities in a positive environment founded on Biblical Christian principles and values. We believe that Gallery 7 has the unique opportunity to be a Godly light in a world of chaos and darkness – to be a place of refuge, inspiration and learning for both practitioners and theatre-lovers alike.
