A high-paced, fun and interactive camp designed to help young children discover and explore their creative sides. Basic theatre skills such as projection, blocking and characterization will be explored using a variety of exciting theatre games. Respect for others and learning to work together will also be explored.

Dramatic Rumblings

Children will express their creative sides in this interactive camp that uses theatre games and activities as a foundation. Basic theatre skills such as blocking, characterization and line memorization will be explored. Life-skills such as cooperation, team work and focus will also be inherently developed.

In this camp, young teens will have the opportunity to explore and evaluate their world through the dramatic arts. Theatre games and activities will be used to enhance existing performance skills and to explore the theatre arts in general. Campers will also have the opportunity to learn a short script for performance.

Older teens will fine-tune general performance skills through improvisation, scene readings, character development and more. Emphasis will be placed on vocal production and physical characterization while developing a short play from scratch.

Who said Shakespeare can't be fun? In this camp, teens will have a blast as they prepare and perform a short scene written by one of the greatest playwrights who ever lived. Explore how to read, interpret and perform the Bard in style while learning how to develop character, build vocal confidence and to do everything an actor does to be ready for that opening night performance. Campers will perform their scenes for family & friends at the final Friday Night Showcase on July 25, 2008 at 6:30 PM

Learn to perform in a musical theatre production with gusto! Explore the fun and exciting world of voice, choreography and character development. Participants will rehearse and present a short musical theatre piece for parents at the Friday Night Showcase on July 25, 2008 at 6:30 PM.

Take the plunge with this unique camp that explores the lesser known, but equally important technical aspects of theatre production. Learn cool stuff about lighting, sound, stage management and more in this exciting three-day camp! This course will include a tour of the Abbey Arts Centre.

Improv Break-Out

Learn the mysterious art of improvisation in this high paced interactive workshop designed to provide youth the opportunity to explore on-the-spot improv skills and to overcome inhibitions. Theatre Sports-style games will also be taught.
