Abbotsford KidsArt

Some time ago, the City of Abbotsford was approached to set up a KidSport Fund in the community to provide financial assistance to enable all kids to participate in sports. The Board of Directors determined that they wanted to establish a sister program (KidsArt) that would mirror KidSport and an umbrella organization for these two program has been established - AbbyKids.

About AbbyKids... 

AbbyKids is a registered not-for-profit society, whcih will identify needs in the community, raise funds, and support programs that create new opportunities for children to participate in sport and the arts.  An anonymous, generous, community-spiritied patron of the arts is donating $10,000 annually for KidsArt, and Telus is donating $2,500 for KidSport.  A fundraising plan is currently underway to generate additional funds for both programs from corporate donors.

KidsArt will help remove the financial barriers that prevent some kids from taking those wonderful lessons in ballet, music, drama, painting and so on.

How to Apply for Funding... 

To apply for funding, an application form must be filled in by the parent, the school/program/teacher and must be signed by an Adjudicator from a recognized agency or school who attests that applicant meets the AbbyKids guidelines. The funds will then be disbursed up to a maximum of $500 per applicant per year directly to the sport or art organization, not the individual students.
