2020/2021 Virtual Workshop Series


We're excited to be offering a number of theatre courses as part of our G7 Lite: Service Pack 29.5 theatre season. Starting this autumn, enjoy a number of training opportunities, all from the comfort of your home. Coming up, we're offering courses in Performing Shakespeare, Stage Management and Playwrighting, and we're looking forward to announcing another performance-based course for the New Year. 


Regardless of your experience level, these courses will offer both a refresher and something maybe you didn't know about the topic. We're recruiting top-notch professional, even award-winning, instructors who are looking forward to sharing their knowledge and experience with you.

Acting in the Film & TV Industry


Three Tuesday Nights: February 16, 23 & March 2, 2021

Have you ever wondered what a typical day on set looks like for an actor? Have you ever wondered why "hitting the mark" is so important? Join Annette Reilly (B.F.A., Diana Spellman on Netflix's The Chilling Adventure of Sabrina) as she walks you through working as a professional film actor. Topics include auditioning, shooting a scene, set etiquette, camera awareness & technique, eyelines, working in the Vancouver market and general professionalism. This is a practical introductory course for performers looking to enter the film industry.

Scene Study for Film & TV


3 Tuesdays: March 30, April 6 & 13, 2021

Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Instructor: Anette Reilly


Expand your acting skills by diving in to this practical, performance-based short course. Designed for film actors but applicable to stage performers as well, this hands-on workshop will explore important acting techniques such as breaking down a scene, playing your notes, making strong character choices, acting for the camera, and learning the infrastructure behind every good performance. Participants will have the opportunity to work on a short monologue and receive helpful feedback from the instructor.


Cost: $90.00/person + order fees

2020/2021 Theatre Course Instructors


Annette Reilly

Annette is an award-winning filmmaker and actor, known for her role as Diana Spellman, Sabrina’s mortal mother, in the Netflix original Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Growing up in small town Alberta, she pursued her love of theatre with a BFA from UVic and was eventually led to film in an effort to bring pressing social justice issues into cinematic storytelling. Her most recent film, A Typical Fairytale, was nominated for 4 Leo Awards and won awards at the Burbank International Film Festival, Children's Film Festival Seattle, Okotoks Film Festival, and NSI Online Film Festival.
