Anne
By Paul Ledoux
Based on the novel by L.M. Montgomery
Abbotsford Arts Centre

Aging siblings Matthew and Marilla require help to deal with the many challenges of operating a farm. They turn to an orphanage to provide them with a boy who can assist. Instead, much to their surprise, they are sent the irrepressible, fiery red-head, Anne Shirley – that is, Anne with an ‘e’.
At first, the precocious Anne has difficulty assimilating into rural life, often clashing with her classmates, members of the community and even the stoic Marilla. Over time, Anne begins to find her place, and those around her start to recognize her for who she truly is, and the people of Avonlea are forever transformed.
This inspiring and heartwarming Canadian classic celebrates community, family, and discovering one’s place in the world.
